YouTubeYouTube, a video sharing website, is one of the best ways for performing artists to show their art to existing fans and to gain a bigger audience. Artists like Denice Frohman, use YouTube to stay in touch with fans who were unable to attend the event in person or who went and just want to re-live the experience. If your art has motion and/or sound, YouTube is the way to go. Not only can you upload videos of your work, but you can also "tag" your videos. Tagging on YouTube is when you associate words and categories with your videos so that they show up as results when searched for said term. For example, Frohman's videos may be tagged "poetry", "slam poetry", and "spoken word". Most of her work is speaking out against social issues, so her videos might be under the category "Nonprofit & Activism". Putting your video under a category is quite nice because if a viewer is not sure of exactly what they want to watch but has a general idea, they can just browse through the different categories until they find a specific video or user that sparks their interest.
